What is the difference between microblading and microshading?
1
Do I need to place a deposit in order to book an appointment
Yes, we do require either a non-refundable booking fee / deposit to be placed or credit card information for no-show protection to be booked in for most of our services, with some exceptions. The deposit comes off the price of service, and cancellation fees will only be applied to credit cards if cancellation / reschedule or no show occurs. The deposit amount ranges from $50.00-$250.00 depending on service, and the no-show fee is up to 100% of the service cost. We require minimum 72 hours notice prior to rescheduling or cancelling any appointments. (Some exceptions apply). Deposits / Cancellation / Booking Fees are non-refundable and are to secure an appointment slot. We allow one (1) reschedule before additional deposit is required to be placed prior to rebooking and being charged with cancellation fee starting at $50.00 (with exceptions to emergencies) Please be aware: All permanent makeup and tattoo appointments have a cancellation fee ranging between $100.00-$200.00 for any cancellations made, whether outside 72 hours or not. Please be aware of this prior to placing deposit on tattoo & cosmetic tattoo procedures.

Does the cost of permanent makeup include touch-ups?
The initial touch-ups are not included in the upfront price. Each permanent makeup artist across the board has their own pricing structure and method of charging for post procedure touch-ups. Most cosmetic tattoo locations will often include the cost of the initial touch-up in the upfront price, which is a good way to ensure the client returns for their touch up. Typically with a touch-up included, these services can range from $600.00-900.00. At Diamond, we charge per visit so the touch-up is not included in the initial pricing. Our cosmetic tattoo services range from $450.00-$500.00, and our first touch ups are $125.00-$160.00. (Annual are 60% of full price) It is highly recommended to get a touch up done after the initial procedure to check up on healing as well as deliver the most optimal results for your eyebrows / lips. However, we also understand that life happens and not everyone is always able to make it in for their touch-up appointments or by the deadline, or a touch-up isn't always required. We find it is an easier system to break up payments so that it's a pay-per-visit structure instead of an upfront out of pocket cost. Please keep in mind - If you reschedule your touch up appointment to outside the 6-8 week touch up period, you will have to pay for annual-touch up fee. We recommend booking in sooner than later for 6-8 week touch up to ensure optimal healing results.

I've had previous permanent makeup done, can I still get my touch-up done at Diamond?
If you are planning to book an appointment at Diamond for permanent makeup and you currently have previously done PMU, then we will require a quick consultation. During the consultation, your permanent makeup artist will take a close look at your current PMU and assess if any corrective work needs to be done. There is an addition $100.00 cost for corrective work, and any touch-ups done on permanent makeup that wasn't originally done by an artist at Diamond will be subject to full-service cost.

What is the minimum age for ear piercings on children?
Our minimum age requirement for ear piercings is 5 years of age. Our piercer wants to ensure the child is old enough to consent to the piercing procedure, as well as understand the level of care required with their fresh piercings. If you are looking to have your child's ears pierced and you are unsure, just e-mail or give us a call and we can walk you through the procedure as well as answer any questions you may have.

What are tooth gems and are they permanent?
Tooth gems are small Swarovski crystals that are adhered directly to the tooth using a dental adhesive. Our tooth technician uses an etch on the placement, and a cured bonding agent to adhere the gem securely onto the tooth. Tooth gems are not permanent and are a non-invasive and pain free service. They last typically 3-6 months on average, though there are cases where the gems could last upwards of a year. (We offer 1 month guarantee if any gems fall off, we will redo them free of charge.)
Tooth gems do not interfere with your eating or daily oral hygiene. You can still floss, brush and use mouthwash as normal and maintain your routine dental visits without complications. Though, if you are looking into getting professional tooth whitening done, it is recommended to get whitening done prior to tooth gem application.

If I have my own jewelry, can I bring it to be pierced with? Or can I bring my own jewelry to change?
We will not use any jewelry other than the jewelry we have available in our studio for fresh piercings. All piercings are fitted with appropriately sized, fully sterilized implant-grade titanium jewelry. For fresh piercings, it is critical to use high-quality metals that are body safe, durable, light, sterile and the proper size to accommodate the inevitable swelling post procedure. Any outside jewelry being brought into the studio will not be used during initial piercing.
However, we do offer jewelry change services on fully healed piercings for a fee of $20.00 if it is not purchased through us. This fee includes packaging and sterilizing it prior to being fitted. If jewelry is of low quality or not appropriate for the piercing location, the piercer may decline. Any jewelry purchased at Diamond Beauty Co. or through Junipurr Jewelry will cost $10.00 to change. If the piercing hole needs to be sized up, it is an additional $10.00 to stretch holes with a taper.

Can I wear makeup to my eyelash / eyebrow / permanent makeup appointment?
We strongly recommend you remove all makeup and thoroughly cleanse your face before arriving to your appointment if you are having any services done around your eyes or lips. We encourage (and appreciate!) you to arrive with your beautiful bare face so it saves our beauty technicians time when prepping for the service and makes their jobs a little easier. If there is excessive or waterproof makeup present around the eyes during a lash appointment, there will be an additional fee of $10.00 for makeup removal. Please do not arrive with waterproof eyeliner or mascara on if possible. For permanent makeup consultations, please arrive without any makeup on your lips, brows or eyes (depending on what service you're getting) so your permanent makeup artist can get a clear view of the area they are tattooing prior to the service.

What is lip blushing and what benefits does this service offer?
Lip blushing (also referred to as lip tint and lip tattoo) is a microshading technique used to saturate your lips with pigment. We use a numbing agent prior to the procedure to provide maximum comfort and this service can take up to 2 hours.
Whether you're looking for a subtle wash of pigment, a more bold lip statement or even just looking to even out the overall pigment of your lips, we will take care of you. As we age, we all tend to lose the natural colour in lips and the blush offers the benefit of a more awake and vibrant look, it makes your lips look more refined and a little bit of colour can go a long way.
There are many benefits to lip blushing:
1. Can be used to improve the overall shapes of the lips (augmentation)
2. Creates fullness and symmetry
3. Provides even pigment over lips
4. Reduces visibility of lines and wrinkles which offers anti-aging aspect.
5. The pigment is waterproof and sweatproof (saves you time on makeup in the mornings)
6. Improves the overall beauty of the natural lip colour.
7. The voluptuous plump effect lip blushing offers.

I just got some lash extensions done, now what?
Proper aftercare for your fresh set of lash extensions is incredibly important to help them last and look flawless.
Rule #1: Don't get them wet for the first 24-48 hours. At all. Make sure you are using a cloth or wipes to wash your face and avoid getting them wet, also avoid having your face directly in the stream of water during a shower.
Rule #2: Refrain from wearing mascara / waterproof makeup or using eye creams / oil based makeup removers. These can all wear down the integrity of the lash glue which can result in fallout.
Rule #3: For extensions, make sure you purchase our lash shampoo kit so you can make sure to keep your lashes clean and use your spoolies provided to brush them out daily.
Rule #4: Try to not sleep on your face! As hard as this is, try sleeping on your back or on your side as sleeping directly on your lashes can cause tension to them and make them look not-as-cute.

How long do lash extensions typically last for?
Lash extensions typically last the duration of your natural lash growth cycle. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, refills should be done every 2-4 weeks to maintain them.

What is the difference between microblading and microshading?
At Diamond, we offer eyebrow microblading, Combination brows and Powder/ Ombre brows. (Powder / Ombre brows are often referred to as Microshading.)
Microblading is an advanced brow technique which uses a superfine row of needles to deposit pigments into the epidermis creating thin, hair-like semi-permanent marks which lasts up to 12-18 months.
Microshading is the use of a cosmetic pen-style tattoo machine and cartridge needles (similar to standard tattooing) and the beauty technician makes fine passes over the brow area to create a smooth, powdery layer of pigment. Similar to shading a tattoo, the sweeping motion creates a fine texture as opposed to laying solid-pigment, which leaves the brows looking more full without looking too heavy or dense.
Combination brows are our most popular and highly requested service, as it offers the best of both worlds: the fine, hair-like strokes that microblading offers, paired with the smooth, full saturation of pigment that powder brows offer.

What is the cancellation policy for permanent makeup and what happens to my deposit if I cancel my appointment?
All permanent makeup appointments require a non-refundable booking fee (deposit) to be booked in or No-Show protection on our online booking system. We offer complimentary consultations with our permanent makeup artists so you are able to discuss the procedure, go over fine details and receive information on pre-care, during procedure and aftercare prior to booking an appointment. We require at least 72 hours (3 full days) notice prior to any cancellations or rescheduling. Any cancellation or rescheduling within 3 day span will result in loss of deposit or no-show protection fee being charged to credit card. If there is no deposit or credit card on file, a cancellation fee may be applied to rescheduled appointment cost. No-Show / No-Call appointments will be subject to up to 100% of the service fee and clients who No-Show will not be able to book again for any service unless the No-Show fee is paid. We allow one (1) reschedule or service change per booking. Any additional reschedules regardless if outside our 72 hour window (exception to emergencies) may be subject to cancellation fee / loss of deposit or requirement to place additional deposit to secure new date. If reschedules become consistent, we may require 50-100% of service charge to be pre paid prior to booking in. Please show up to your appointment 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork and begin the numbing process. Clients who are 15 minutes or more late to their appointment may be subject to late fee or loss of appointment slot. Please contact us ahead of time if you will be arriving late to your appointment. Thank you.
